Neutral history is impossible. Aside from this, most histories of the formation of Israel I have found acknowledge the role of Israeli cooperation with the British Mandatory government to create planned settlements (kibbutzim). That just so happens to be aligned with definitions of settler-colonialism. Merely examining the history of the Kibbutz movement is reminiscent of colonization.
